Cog-Knight. Mock video game logo

Cog-Knight is the name of a hypothetical video game concept Ive been developing. Its a mix between late medieval and steampunk aesthetics. 1500 meets 1900

Some of my inspo and refs. I wanted this logo to be something I can adjust and add to depending on the setting, but still keep contained, like the Bioshock logo. Other insp comes from vintage graphic design, old german signs. and late medieval metalwork

My first sketches. I really wanted to incorporate actual cogs into the C in some way. Also figuring out compositions

First draft. taking lots of inspo from victorian graphic design. But it ended up looking a bit like a barber shop logo. There is way too much going on here.

Second draft. Returing to initial ideas. I wanted to figure out a way to make the C both a gear and a church rose window. I thought itd instantly communicate that this is a blend of medieval and steampunk

After a critique on my second draft, i realized The cog wheel church window wasnt working. It was too detailed and read more like an E. So I began looking at early C's and K's from medieval manuscripts. Trying to balance the sword as well.

Continuing to tweak the new C and K, incorporating shapes commonly found in late medieval metal work. Sword is much smaller and balanced, slotting neatly into the curve of the h

The final product! I missed the gear from the earlier drafts, so I brought it back for the border. I like how the Cog is framed by the gear, while the Knight area looks like the end of a sword
